“ I love to create art and teach about art. I am a proud American born Greek and Colorado native, I try to represent how feel about his beautiful state, through the spirituality of my art.”
My paintings and sculptures are a reflection of my life growing up and living in the Rocky Mountain West. I like to represent abstract renditions of the colors, contrasts and attitude of the American West culture. Often you will see landscape and architectural features combined with abstract contrasts and colors within the work. Some of my pieces will also reflect my Greek heritage by incorporating the spirituality of the Greek Orthodox faith through iconographic-layered textures and ambient use of space.
I am a Denver native. I have degrees from The University of Denver and Colorado University/Denver. I am a twenty-five year teaching veteran of the Denver Public Schools. Most recently I have been the Art Department chairperson at George Washington High School. I believe that teaching art has been the catalyst for my artistic career and I encourage my students to find a way to include art in their lives.
I received the Denver Mayor’s award for Excellence in the Arts, the Colorado High School Art teacher of the year award, and the Mile High Teachers award. At George Washington, I developed a program that brings students with special needs into the arts through student mentoring with advanced art students.
